The McAlister-Leftwich House
This custom suite was designed for a fresh and organic spring wedding in North Carolina. Handmade paper was used for both the cards and the envelopes, and served as the perfect backdrop for the light and delicate calligraphy. All wording on the cards was written entirely by hand and digitized for printing. The text was complimented with organic botanical illustrations and a parchment overlay with an illustrated vignette of the Leftwich House. The overlay also doubles as a piece of artwork that can be framed later.
The entire suite was designed to be light and airy, a vintage-inspired exemplar of elegance. Embellishments on this suite were used to enhance color and texture. The envelope liners were a batik paper, made with beautiful translucent sections. Vintage postage brought out greens and warm browns, and a pale gold wax sealed off the envelope.
The menus also used pale gold wax seals, and were used to attach the handwritten vellum place cards. The translucency of the vellum showed botanical illustrations printed on the menu underneath. Full calligraphy was used on the menus as well.
